Minimum Wage Defeated

So the Republican-controlled Senate refuses to raise the minimum wage for the first time in eight years. How many of us would settle for no cost-of-living increase after eight years? Certainly not our senators. They have voted themselves seven raises in the past eight years!

And we wonder why we have to import illegal workers to take these minimum wage jobs? Pay a living wage and our country will be stronger.

Implement a minimum wage and they will simply hire less people. Whether through automation or simply piling the same volume of work on fewer employees, a so-called living wage will limit hiring. And throwing in the Congressional pay raise is an absolute red herring.
